37s over the Metrolink. Surely not?

In late January 2009,the second Metrolink relaying contract was in full swing and the ELR had been contracted to provide locomotives and drivers to haul the works trains. DB Schenker brought the materials to site. 30th Jan saw a trainload of long welded rails arrive from Warrington – which was stabled with 37418 ready to go out that evening – and a rake of empty MTA ballast wagons depart. 37901 brought the wagons up to Bolton Street station from the yard at Baron Street (below and middle) for the main line motive power (66152 and 66250) to take back to Warrington (bottom). Oh and the weather couldn’t have been better!
